They were bred to run long distances in harsh Arctic conditions and retain their love of running and outdoor activities. Huskies are friendly, social dogs that generally love people. Huskies are independent thinkers and can be challenging to train for inexperienced owners. They have strong prey drives, are notorious escape artists, and need substantial daily exercise to prevent destructive behaviors.
